This paper examined the practical impact of price-based demand-side management (DSM) for occupants an office building connected to a renewable energy microgrid. There has been absence studies that have analyzed occupant reactions, in terms perceived practicality, regarding implementation DSM conjunction with factors including generation, load shifting and costs. An increased understanding practicality will support future improvements efficiency sustainability. Ten National Build Energy Retrofit Test-bed (NBERT) were selected as case study. The electricity consumption pattern NBERT was derived over period two years. Five unique schedules developed each occupants, survey carried out investigate these schedules. A real-time pricing tariff, CO2 intensity, three feed-in tariffs microgrid control methods evaluated assess schedule on ten occupants. results showed incorporation onsite generation had positive (r = 0.69–0.75) practicality. Onsite able offset demand expensive from grid during peak hours, which aligned occupants’ typical work However, introduction tariff made less 0.15–0.64).

This study presents an innovative home energy management system (HEMS) that incorporates PV, WTs, and hybrid backup storage systems, including a hydrogen (HSS), battery (BESS), electric vehicles (EVs) with vehicle-to-home (V2H) technology. The research, conducted in Liaoning Province, China, evaluates the performance of HEMS under various demand response (DR) scenarios, aiming to enhance resilience, efficiency, independence green buildings. Four DR scenarios were analyzed: No DR, 20% 30% 40% DR. findings indicate implementing programs significantly reduces peak load operating costs. scenario achieved lowest cumulative cost $749.09, reflecting 2.34% reduction compared $767.07 scenario. integration particularly batteries fuel cells (FCs), effectively managed supply, ensuring continuous power availability. maintained low loss supply probability (LPSP), indicating high reliability. Advanced optimization techniques, reptile search algorithm (RSA), are crucial enhancing efficiency. These results underscore potential systems V2H technology sustainability residential management.
