This paper introduces current status research development turbines from perspectives significance, design optimization, operational performance, advanced methods, etc. Internal external characteristics such as transient flow evolution, structural vibration, flow-induced noise, etc., not only reflect performance (hydraulic, cavitation, sediment abrasion, stability etc.) but directly affect safe efficient operation system. Axial hydraulic thrust is a crucial factor contributing to the unstable operation of pump-turbine especially under off-design conditions. Pressure-balance pipe can effectively achieve axial balance pump-turbine. In this study, impact diameter and location pressure-balance on runaway condition investigated. The influence mechanism pressure distribution internal flow patterns further explored. results show that pipes have relatively minor while increase in causes rise thrust. Compared with outer pipe, inner demonstrates more significant effect force runner. Additionally, low-frequency components at 0.6 times runner rotational frequency are observed, which indicate occurrence stall vaneless area. variation also affects number passages vortices, as well quantity vortices. With diameter, backflow phenomena negative regions gradually emerge result chaotic flow.

As the global demand for energy conservation increases, achieving efficient conversion in fans has become a significant challenge field of mine ventilation. To investigate influence blade installation angle distribution spanwise direction on characteristics mining counter-rotating axial flow fan, three optimization schemes were proposed this paper. The internal fan was obtained by numerical simulation and experimental methods. Based entropy production theory, correlation between loss parameters established, thus quantitative assessment loss. research findings indicate differences before after optimization, with scheme OP1 (when case 1 is applied to both front impeller rear impeller) demonstrating superior performance. Compared original efficiency total pressure increase 1.1% 1.3%, respectively, under 1.0 QBEP condition (QBEP rate at best point). Furthermore, 1.2 condition, improvements reach 3.1% 4.7%, respectively. improvement mainly attributed reduction induced turbulent dissipation within downstream domain. Notably, distinct rates extension pipe different schemes, reduced 24.6% compared that condition.
