This article presents the results of a study on rheological and lubricating properties selected alcohol fuels. Methanol, ethanol, 2-propanol are investigated, for which density, kinematic, dynamic viscosity determined at temperatures in range 15–60 °C. In addition, water content studied fuels is determined. Based measurements, coefficient temperature change density relative percentage decrease kinematic with increasing calculated. Subsequently, regression models built to describe value tested liquid as function temperature. Next, under subjected evaluation antiwear using high-frequency reciprocating rig (HFRR). For each fuel, corrected wear scar size WS1.4, measure lubricity, average friction, oil FILM thickness during conduct HFRR test standardized conditions, The measurements carried out 25 °C accordance methods time equal 75 min. Due low lubricity fuels, additional tests performed reduced 30 this case, all show similar WS1.4 value, ranges from 384 μm methanol through 422 426 ethanol. marks samples after execution used draw qualitative conclusions about alcohols. obtained summarized, possibilities their use further research provided.
