In 2023, China’s crude steel production amount reached 1.019 billion tons, and the energy consumption of industry 561 million tons coal. industry, with its dominant reliance on coal for primary use blast furnaces converters in processes, as well massive output, has become main field achieving “carbon peaking” neutrality” goals. Firstly, this article summarizes current status situation carbon emissions industry. Secondly, it discusses dual-carbon policies based national levels outlines future directions Subsequently, analyzes state research application mature emerging low-carbon technology details plans companies using roadmaps two representative examples. Finally, gives policy suggestions further reduction The purpose paper is to show efforts contributions early realization

In the iron and steel industry, evaluating energy utilization efficiency (EUE) determining optimal matching mode play an important role in addressing increasing depletion environmental problems. Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking is a typical short crude production route, which characterized by energy-intensive fast smelting rhythm diversified raw charge structure. this paper, model of EAF process established to conduct analysis EUE evaluation. An association rule mining (ARM) strategy for guiding based on data cleaning, feature selection, (AR) algorithm was proposed, effectiveness verified. The unsupervised Auto-Encoder (AE) adopted detect eliminate abnormal data, complete ensure quality accuracy. AE performs best when number nodes hidden layer 18. selection determines 10 factors such as hot metal (HM) ratio HM temperature features simplify According different ratios temperatures HM, combined with k-means clustering AR algorithm, operation under modes proposed. results indicated that conditions low temperature, power consumption second stage ranges between 4853 kWh 7520 kWh, oxygen 1816 m3 1961 m3, natural gas 156 196 m3. Conversely, high tends decrease, furnace wall 4732 5670 1561 1871 By comparison, modes, scheme obtained ARM has obvious effect improvement EUE. With EUE, A2B1 most obvious, from 24.7% 53%. This study expected provide technical ideas conservation emission reduction future.

Published: Jan. 1, 2025

Over the past decade, Beijing has achieved positive results in controlling fine particulate matter (PM2.5) pollution. However, it remains a challenge to further reduce PM2.5 concentrations lower level, such as World Health Organization's air quality guidelines (5 µg/m3). In this study, and emission reductions over eight years covering two policy periods of pollution abatement (2013–2017 2018–2020) were compared investigate efficiency controls surrounding areas. An approach based on observational data, particularly including data from regional atmospheric background station, was employed calculate relative contributions local emissions transport. Results show that play more important role decreasing Beijing. following substantial decrease first period, contribution regionally transported reached than 50% during second period. The indicate joint prevention control are needed for future. addition, North China Plain an increasing trend recent years, which may be attributed increased oxidant capacity, thereby posing management.
