Purpose Blockchain technology is one of the major contributors to supply chain sustainability because its inherent features. However, adoption rate relatively low due reasons such as diverse barriers impeding blockchain adoption. The purpose this study identify in sustainable and uncovers their interrelationships. Design/methodology/approach A three-phase framework that combines machine learning (ML) classifiers, BORUTA feature selection algorithm, Grey-DEMATEL method. From literature review, 26 potential were identified evaluated through performance ML models with accuracy f-score. Findings findings reveal algorithm detected 15 prominent barriers, random forest (RF) classifier performed highest Moreover, RF increased by 2.38% 2.19% f-score after removing irrelevant confirming validity algorithm. An ranked according ranking, financial constraints, immaturity, security, knowledge expertise, cultural differences resided at top list. Furthermore, a method employed expose interrelationships between provide an overview cause-and-effect group. Practical implications outcome can help industry practitioners develop new strategies plans for chains. Originality/value research on chains still evolving. This contributes ongoing debate exploring how decision-makers adopt technology, developing process.

The utilisation of blockchain technology has gained significant traction within contemporary supply chains owing to its ability enhance transparency, security, and traceability. Manufacturing plants, as pivotal components the chain, stand benefit from improved tracking transparency goods movement, real-time visibility, quality control processes, adherence industry standards through implementation. Nonetheless, without a comprehensive assessment manufacturing plants' readiness embrace technology, anticipated benefits may give way unforeseen challenges. In this study, novel network framework is offered evaluate for adopting distributed ledger specifically blockchain, under varying levels ambiguity, including high (fuzzy) low (scenario) ambiguity. This distinguished by address uncertainty in evaluations, incorporating both scenario-based fuzzy programming approaches. Furthermore, treats evaluation criteria interconnected entities, fostering perspective rather than black-box approach. proposed then validated case study involving five plants twenty-four criteria. Our findings underscore role considerations ranking with fifth plant emerging frontrunner across assessments most instances.
