Deforestation is a central topic in the ongoing environmental degradation stemming from global economic expansion and population growth. This study delved into effects of electricity production renewable sources, GDP per capita, urbanization on forest area growth Finland during over-three-decade research period, 1990–2022, using an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. Both ARDL bounds test Bayer–Hanck cointegration tests proved existence long-term cointegrating relationship between variables, constructed error correction model (ECM) evaluated short-term relationships. The results showed that: (i) positively connected with sources urbanization; (ii) negatively growth; (iii) short run, all regressors. utilized ARDL-ECM model, characterized by its robustness appropriateness, validated time-series dynamics. obtained were scrutinized, their policy implications thoroughly examined. Additionally, recommendations are provided to ensure sustainability success conservation efforts.
