This study investigated the historical Kabasakal Mosque minaret’s seismic performance in Şahinbey district of Gaziantep province. After 6 February 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquake, cone and honeycomb sections minaret were damaged. The is a typical masonry structure with cylindrical body open balconies belonging to Ottoman period, damage that occurred primarily weak areas, such as cone, caused serious structural problems due earthquakes. In study, finite element model (FEM) was created. Nonlinear time-history analyses performed using earthquake records recorded where located model. First, original state (OM model) analyzed, its collapse mechanisms investigated. Then, proposal developed strengthen steel rings. reinforcement tested numerical analyses, dynamic performances both models compared. durability local materials commonly used regional structures, Urfa stone, evaluated. It observed proposed method reduced displacement demands critical areas increased overall rigidity structure. emphasizes importance methods protecting structures reveals solution’s applicability similar structures.
