Precast
systems
are
increasingly
favored
in
modern
construction
to
meet
the
growing
demands
for
faster
project
delivery,
cost
control,
and
enhanced
quality
assurance.
Yet,
feasibility
of
connections
between
precast
elements
remains
a
crucial
factor
affecting
overall
structural
performance
these
systems.
Considering
versatility
dimensional
consistency
steel
sections,
this
study
introduces
an
emulative
column-to-column
hybrid
connection
achieved
by
using
welding-spliced
tubes,
with
view
improving
assembly
efficiency
on-site
control.
Reversed
cyclic
loading
tests
were
conducted
on
five
near
full-scale
column
specimens
assess
seismic
proposed
connection.
Results
indicated
that
method
could
provide
comparable
traditional
cast-in-place
counterpart.
Nevertheless,
anchorage
longitudinal
rebars
played
critical
role,
as
inadequate
anchorages
led
significant
reductions
columns’
lateral
capacity.
For
reason,
increasing
tube
thickness
was
shown
be
insufficient
substitute
proper
detailing.
Moreover,
it
found
incorporation
welded
tubes
shifted
plastic
hinge
region
upward,
resulting
more
extended
damage
zone—a
consequence
localized
stiffening
effect.

existing
equations
methods
employed
evaluate
strength,
load-displacement
response,
length
tested
specimens.
