ABSTRACT Crystal Violet (CV) is a vibrant and harmful dye known for its toxicity to aquatic life potential carcinogenic effects on humans. This study explores the removal of CV through photocatalysis driven by visible light, as well examining antibacterial antibiofilm characteristics zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) synthesized from aerial roots Ficus benghalensis . Various characterization techniques were employed confirm optical properties, crystal lattices, morphology ZnO NPs. TEM images showed that NPs had spherical shape, with an average size 40 80 nm. The photocatalytic analysis revealed exhibited substantial activity under effectively degrading 90.6% in aqueous solution. was evaluated against clinically relevant bacterial strains such Pseudomonas aeruginosa Bacillus subtilis , revealing notable zones inhibition. Moreover, 96.8 ± 0.5% 98.3 0.3% P. Staphylococcus aureus respectively. In conclusion, this demonstrated sustainable solution wastewater treatment applications.
