This study examines the complex and time-varying relationship between residential energy demand (including electricity, geothermal, solar energy) climate change using wavelet analyses with monthly USA data from January 1990 to March 2023. The results show that indicators exhibit a interrelationship cyclical lag effects. Specifically, before 2021, positive correlation electricity carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in short-term frequencies was found, but reversed thereafter, an increase CO2 levels influencing decreasing demand. In long run frequencies, link power consumption shifted over time, exhibiting inconsistent co-movement. co-movements geothermal predominantly correlations, leading short run, while leads run. both long-term dependency co-movement are mixed, correlations negative correlations. Therefore, improved insulation, energy-efficient windows, high-efficiency heating systems can all assist reducing heat loss total for domestic subsequently low emissions.

Staged retrofits were introduced in the energy performance of buildings directive, but they remain underexplored literature. This paper addresses households' budget restrictions as a reason for implementing staged based on data-driven analysis owner-occupied single-family houses Spain. The research question is follows: What impact modelling optimal timing and their resulting CO2 emissions? study combines two methods: statistical matching European Union statistics income living conditions household survey data retrofit mixed-integer linear optimisation model. concludes that without any financial measure designed to accelerate building stock decarbonisation, renovation roadmap, from first year until last measure, may consume total 17 years. Various policy instruments addressing stock's techno-socioeconomic heterogeneities, such innovative financing incentive schemes, are needed reduce emissions significantly rapidly. Furthermore, use metrics representing with time (e.g. cumulative emissions) recommended passports. Such metric will enable monitoring buildings' decarbonisation better frame EU Member States' strategies.

Energy usage in large-scale premises exhibits a distinctive pattern, encompassing both thermal energy and electricity. As result of the recent crisis, operational expenditures associated with these demands have markedly risen. In line EU Policies, one future goals is transition towards energy-wise self-sufficient buildings powered by renewable sources (RES). Nowadays, combination contemporary management systems, electricity storage RES are proposed to achieve nearly zero emission-producing consumption buildings. This paper examines patterns hotel situated on Mediterranean, order investigate potential RES-induced independence forecast expansion prospects. An algorithm has been introduced optimize enhance self-sufficiency under consideration. The successfully enhances hotel's self-sufficiency, achieving remarkable 99% rate through dimensions PV power corresponding battery capacity for all years examination, yielding financial environmental conclusions.

The recent literature emphasizes the significance of occupants’ behavior in shaping home energy demand. Several policies have been defined and tools technologies developed to raise people’s awareness encourage energy-saving practices at home, but households’ demand keeps rising. thesis is that fundamentals on this topic are still unclear available tools, strategies measures should be approached a more integrated way, as they not now effective enough savings. How these could successfully combined major knowledge gap. Thus, article proposes critical review discuss potential role end users conservation preparing ground for truly engagement behavioral change. To end, systematic performed, including over 130 relevant articles. According interpretation their content, after years technologically driven strategies, most promising approaches capable overcoming intention–action gap those user-centered. However, relying solely social aspect effective. Synergistic integration two main clusters studies has identified field research future.
