This study explores the challenge of achieving water and energy self-sufficiency in isolated regions through design a hybrid renewable system (HRES) for Skyros, Greek island not connected to mainland grid. The proposed integrates wind turbines, photovoltaics, pumped hydro, hydrogen storage ensure stable supply, particularly during peak summer demand. Using advanced R simulations, three scenarios were analyzed on 30 min basis. A combined meets 99.99% demand 83% electricity needs. hydro-only covers 74% hydrogen-only supplies but just 67% findings indicate annual CO2 emission reductions exceeding 9600 tons. Economic analysis confirms system’s feasibility, with projected 10-year payback period. cost desalinated is estimated at EUR 1/m3, while costs range from 0.083/kWh hydro 0.093/kWh 0.101/kWh system. Overall, results highlight potential enhance flexibility complement offering sustainable solutions addressing both environmental economic challenges.
