A landfill is an area for disposing of final-stage waste, from source to transportation and disposal. This study assesses characterization, sources, health risks assessment exposure heavy metals (HMs) in ambient air personal sampler via inhalation by informal workers the Piyungan site area. The sample was carried out using a high-volume (HAVS) dust that measures HMs analyzes them inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). interviews were conducted with workers, 45 respondents complaints. analysis found high concentration exceeded limits set threshold limit values (TLV) sampler. average concentrations elements (mg/m3) PM2.5 are shown Fe 54.2, Cu 5.91, Mn 3.02, Zn 1.33, As 0.108, Pb 0.102, Co 0.027, Cd 0.004, Se 0.0037 480.90, 8.42, 12.26, 12.76, 0.24, 1.45, 0.12, 0.06, 0.02. Hazard Index (HI) target metals, which indicate non-carcinogenic risk, exceed stated safety had HI value 6.2 showed 25. Analysis carcinogenic risk As, Cd, there high-risk levels cancer-causing level ranging (10−3 ≤ CR <10−1). primary sources vehicle emissions operation landfills waste components electronic, construction, market, domestic waste. Municipal solid waste management in developing countries faces limitations, especially concerning technologies for treatment and disposal, which is crucial achieving environmental economic sustainability goals. This paper investigates municipal Laos, compared with the ASEAN-Japan regions, focusing on background information, characteristics, impact, resource utilization. The findings indicate a continuous rise generation particularly capital Vientiane, from 0.21 million tons 2012 to 0.37 2021. Treatment methods include unsanitary landfilling, basic recycling, open dumping, as well burning or discharge into rivers, posing potential risks environment human health. Japan Singapore have shown decreasing trends, reducing 45.23 40.95 2021 7.27 6.94 Laos encounters challenges managing waste, recovery waste-to-energy practices, elements of integrated aimed at promoting sustainability. Enhancing involves act segregation, extended producer responsibility policies. Implementing mechanical biological facilities, plants, upgraded landfills crucial. The Ijen crater volcano (ICV) is one of the active volcanoes with unique environmental conditions; it largest lake in world most extreme acidity and a blue fire phenomenon releases toxic volcanic gases, including dangerous sulfur dioxide (SO₂). It has an impact on environment ecosystem. This research aimed to investigate phenomena gas SO2 characterize conditions health effects ICV. method used this involved carrying out concentration using impinger 32-point sampling around Inje volcano. was characterized based self-observation, station observation, interviews, reliable literature data. effect measured threshold level value local global regulations. shows that characteristics ICV include depth up 200 m diameter ± 900 pH values less than 1. Then, source comes from reaction magma gas. phenomenon, which occurs certain situations, frequently adds natural wonder In addition, distribution concentrations ranges 480 6960 ppb. Air pollution, particularly PM2.5, significantly impacts public health in developing areas. This study evaluates PM2.5 exposure among residents and conducts a risk assessment within the human community Bantul Regency, Indonesia, utilizing high-volume air sampler (HVAS) over 24 h residential area interviewing 36 respondents. The findings of this show that concentrations varied from 50.7 to 61.9 μg/m³, exceeding national ambient quality standards (NAAQS) 35 μg/m³. hazard quotient (RQ) values were greater than 1, signifying considerable risk. Epidemiological statistical analysis indicates significant correlation (p-value < 0.05) between exposure, complaints, respondent characteristics. Residents report issues including cough, headache, eye irritation, breathlessness, wheezing. emphasize imperative for more rigorous regulations, enhanced awareness education regarding preventive practices, urban planning development strategies incorporating green infrastructure. These measures are crucial alleviating hazards enhancing impacted

Chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) represent a significant proportion of global health burden, with wide spectrum varying, heterogenic conditions largely affecting the pulmonary system. Recent advances in immunology and biology have highlighted systemic impact these diseases, notably through elucidation lung-eye axis. The current review focusses on understanding pivotal role axis pathogenesis progression chronic infections diseases. Existing literature published immunological crosstalk between eye lung has been reviewed. various roles ocular microbiome are also explored, examining as gateway for virus transmission, assessing environmental irritants both systems. This novel concept emphasizes bidirectional relationship health, suggesting that may influence vice versa, whereby this conception provides comprehensive framework intricate connecting health. These aspects underscore need an integrative approach management Future research should further elucidate in-depth molecular mechanisms which would pave path diagnostics effective therapeutic strategies.
