Antibacterial drugs are among the most commonly used medications in world. Tetracycline is a widely antibiotic for human and animal therapy due to its broad-spectrum activity, high effectiveness, reasonable cost. The indications treatment with tetracycline include pneumonia, bone joint infections, infectious disorders of skin, sexually transmitted gastrointestinal infections. However, has become serious threat environment because overuse by humans veterinarians weak ability degrade. capable accumulating along food chain, causing toxicity microbial community, encouraging development spread resistance, creating threats drinking irrigation water, disrupting flora intestine. It essential address negative impact on environment, as it causes ecological imbalance. Ineffective wastewater systems main reasons increased concentrations aquatic sources. possible degrade breaking down into small molecules less harmful or nonhazardous effects. A range methods physical, chemical, biological degradation exists. review will discuss effects consumption describe available removal methods.

This study conducted the first extensive and comprehensive investigation of whole-scale sedimentary antibiotic concentration, possible drivers, environmental fate, potential ecological risks in Yangtze River. Totally, 20 antibiotics were detected sediments. Results revealed that order abundance sediment was fluoroquinolones > tetracyclines macrolides sulfonamides amphenicols. The total concentrations 0.10–134.4 ng/g (mean: 11.88 ng/g). Of these, two dominant categories. occurrence sediments suggested distribution coefficient (Kd) one important factors to determine their fate. Correlation analysis demonstrated contamination largely influenced by local scale animal husbandry, positive correlation between heavy metals likely driven common source complexation. Environmental risk assessment showed tetracycline chlortetracycline exhibited from medium high River, although most compounds posed minimal low risks. work provided a valuable large-scale data set across whole River profile antibiotics. Mitigation management measures reduce inputs are needed for basin.

As warned by Sir Alexander Fleming in his Nobel Prize address: "the use of antimicrobials can, and will, lead to resistance". Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has recently increased due the overuse misuse antibiotics, their animals (food-producing companion) also resulted selection transmission resistant bacteria. The epidemiology is complex, factors other than overall quantity antibiotics consumed may influence it. Nowadays, AMR a serious impact on society, both economically terms healthcare. This narrative review aimed provide scenario state phenomenon veterinary medicine related different animal species; that it can have animals, as well humans environment, was considered. Providing some particular instances, authors tried explain vastness many diverse aspects cannot always be controlled. veterinarian main reference point here high responsibility towards human-animal-environment triad. Sharing such burden with human cooperating together for same purpose (fighting containing AMR) represents an effective example application One Health approach.
