This study utilized grab and strip testing methods to examine the relationship between three weave structures—plain, twill, satin—and their tensile strengths in both warp weft directions. In addition, microplastic fiber (MPF) emissions from these structures were quantified at different states of laundry process using filtration microscopy. The tests revealed that twill- satin-woven fabrics exhibited higher direction compared orientation. contrast, plain structure showed similar During washing machine, MPF first drainage highest regardless structure. Moreover, satin pattern released most MPFs among common 5054 particles/L. also had weakest strength 3.1 N/cm2 evaluated. results demonstrated a strong inverse correlation weaker (warp or weft) emissions.
