Bacterial communities in marine sediments of the subtropical Beibu Gulf differ significantly from those other regions. Thus, it is great importance to study sediment characteristics comprising bacterial composition, diversity, assembly processes, and functional profile. However, such remain unclear. Therefore, we studied profiles samples collected 21 sites Gulf. Upon analysis, Proteobacteria was determined be dominant phylum using 16S rRNA sequencing. Predominantly deterministic processes shaped formation communities. The predicted groups involved carbon cycle (59.06%) were most abundant FAPROTAX database, followed by nitrogen (9.25%) sulfur (1.01%). Furthermore, composition community influenced TC, TP, TS (p < 0.001). These results broaden our knowledge profile bay ecosystems, data amplicon sequencing will used monitor manage ecosystems.

Abstract During the past decades since plastic was introduced to world, marine microorganisms have been adapted for life on debris, forming unique plastic-attached microbial communities. To date, little is known about colonization and succession processes that take place surfaces in environments how polymer type affects microbiome composition. address this knowledge gap, we examined dynamics of bacteria four common polymers - PE, PP, PS, PET-compared glass wood a controlled seawater system under different temperatures. Using simple experimental design, coupled with long-read 16S rRNA metabarcoding pipeline set complementary data analyses, characterized temporal trends composition bacterial developed over 2 90 days. By applying weighted gene co-expression network (WGCNA) analysis, established co-occurrence networks identified genera specific signatures, significant enrichment and/or strong intra-genus connections. Among them, members genus Alcanivorax were significantly enriched either PE or PP as early days post-inoculation. preference polyolefins confirmed assays pure strains. Our research approach presented here may contribute understanding plastisphere communities are being formed help identify taxa adaptations surfaces.
