Introduction The plant restoration and ecological of lead-zinc mines are very important. Methods In this study, we used three local plants to carry out abandoned lead–zinc mining areas detected the adaptive mechanisms soil bacterial diversity function during through 16S rRNA sequencing. Results results revealed that significantly reduced diversity, including Shannon, Simpson, observed species indices, whereas planting restored microbial a certain extent, leading increases in Shannon index Observed indices. Mining activities abundances RB41 Bryobacter bulk compared with those nonmining areas, increased rhizosphere areas. Following types ecologically plants, community structure partially recovered. addition, different have been found functions process, iron complex transport system-permitting proteins ATP binding cassettes. Discussion This study confirms for first time adapt remediation process by non-randomly assembling communities functions, providing reference screening resources microbe joint bioremediation strategies mines.

Resilient modulus (Mr) is key for understanding the stiffness and stress‒strain properties of road materials flexible pavement design. Measuring Mr in a laboratory requires conducting dynamic triaxial loading tests with varying confining deviatoric stresses, which can be costly time-consuming process. This study evaluates various machine learning (ML) models to predict cement-stabilized magnetite hematite iron ore tailings based on multiple variables such as cement content, curing time, bulk stress, are considered input parameters. For developing ML models, set data from experimental studies was collected. After comparison, Gaussian Process Regression outperformed other methods predicting both MIOT HIOT. HIOT materials, R2 values were 0.9936 0.9876, 0.9893 0.9825 train test datasets, respectively. The sensitivity analysis revealed that time least important variable, whereas Portland percentage most effective tailings. Additionally, parametric undertaken investigate impact each variable Mr.

Water pollution is a major public health issue, especially in mining areas where artisanal activities are prevalent. The objective of this study was to analyze the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) population regarding water Siguiri, Guinea. A cross-sectional conducted from May 15 June 15, 2023, on Doko, Siguiri. Data were collected using structured questionnaire that assessed related areas. Logistic regression used factors associated with KAP. survey included 501 respondents. Good knowledge observed 53% respondents, while 52% exhibited positive attitude towards area. reported by 81% multivariate analysis showed being educated (ORa: 2.13; 95% CI: 1.39; 3.29) foreigner 1.88; 1.04; 3.51) significantly attitudes Indeed, single (aOR: 1.84; 1.10; 3.14), having good 2.51; 1.47; 4.36) lack lifestyle (tobacco alcohol) 1.02; 5.97) practices. This revealed moderate adequate Siguiri's However, significant gaps remain, including awareness risks prolonged exposure heavy metals. She advocates an integrated approach combining education, awareness-raising technical support, accompanied concrete solutions such as treatment strengthening community initiatives, order convert into sustainable behavior.

Abstract Abiotic CH 4 production driven by Fenton‐type reactive oxygen species (ROS) has been confirmed to be an indispensable component of the atmospheric budget. While chemical reactions independent Fenton chemistry ROS are ubiquitous in nature, it remains unknown whether produced can drive abiotic production. Here, we first demonstrated at soil‐water interface under illumination. Leveraging this finding, polymeric carbon nitrides (CN x ) as a typical analogue natural geobattery material and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) methyl donor were used unravel underlying mechanisms. We revealed that ROS, photocatalytically CN , oxidize DMSO into with high selectivity 91.5 %. Such process was further expanded various non‐Fenton‐type reaction systems, such electrocatalysis, pyrocatalysis sonocatalysis. This work provides insights geochemical cycle offers new route via integrated energy development.

Lead-zinc tailings represent an important source of Cd and other heavy metals in the environment. The active geochemical process plays a critical role these metals' fate ecological risk. However, substantial study gap occurs carbonate-rich Pb-Zn compared to carbonate-poor ones. In this contribution, we conducted XRD mineralogy, particle distribution, ICP-MS ICP-AES bulk chemical analyses, BCR fractions for Niujiaotang Cd-rich decipher operating tailings. result demonstrates that dolomite pyrite dominated mineralogy with average pH 6.36. Cd, Zn, Pb 17 contents samples are 141, 8118, 340 mg/kg, respectively. significant correlation between vs. Zn varied Zn/Cd Zn/Pb ratios four from were revealed. Pyrite weathering associated dissolution oxidation sphalerite responsible release Dolomite acid neutralization caused attenuation by formation carbonate minerals. differences rates sulfide minerals pH-dependent behavior secondary lead mobility among Pb, Cd. We proposed processes significantly lowered risk metals. This contribution sheds new insight into metal pollution control deposits.
