Heavy metals are considered a major pollutant due to their resistance biodegradation, toxic effects on organisms, the fact that they can persist for long periods of time in soils and translocation. So far, no comprehensive, retrospective analyses have been carried out Poland assess spatial temporal changes contamination agricultural with heavy (Cr, Cd, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn, Co, V) using toxicity indices. The main objectives present study were comprehensively status selected based several indicators: Geoaccumulation Index (Igeo), Contamination Factor (CF), Potential Ecological Risk (ER), Enrichment (EF), Pollution (PI) Nemerow (NPI). Multivariate statistical analysis was also out, including principal component (PCA) descriptive statistics presented box plots. Analyses conducted over period 25 years at 216 points within framework chemistry monitoring Poland's arable soils. This will provide considerable assistance different soil types basis research results show structural diversification be used practice formulate recommendations rational use planning investment activities field environmental protection. In addition, these studies may useful development documents, especially postindustrial areas. At analysed points, potential relation influenced by industrial southern (Upper Silesia) south-western (Lower Silesia); however, exceedances affected few (usually 2–3 assessed). situation persisted sites throughout period. dominant type contaminated cambisols phaeozems.
