A recently discovered environmental contaminant, microplastics (MPs) are capable of amassing within the body and pose a grave threat to health both humans animals. It is widely acknowledged that combination cadmium (Cd), hazardous heavy metal, produces synergistic deleterious effects. Nevertheless, mechanism by which co-exposure polyvinyl chloride (PVC-MPs) Cd damages liver avian females unknown. Globally prevalent subject extensive research in mammals, non-alcoholic fatty disease (NAFLD) chronic condition. However, mechanisms underlying injury digestive system caused NAFLD remain Two months PVC-MPs, pure water, solitary exposure, single water were administered female Muscovy ducks this study. The objective was examine whether duck PVC-MPs Cd-induced oxidative stress resulted subsequent apoptosis hepatic cells. study's findings showed hepatocyte shape functional activity negatively impacted PVC-MP buildup tissues. Reduced organ coefficients, increased alanine aminotransferase (ALT) content, ultrastructural damage nuclei mitochondria indicators this. These results point possible impairment function. phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 1 (PCK1) deficiency activates protein kinase B/phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K/AKT) pathway livers reproductive have been damaged stress. This stimulation induces lipid deposition, fibrosis, glycogen accumulation, ultimately apoptosis. In summary, our provides evidence cause harm liver, subsequently fibrosis tissue, glucolipid metabolism,

On the beach of Linosa Island (Italy), 43 loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) unhatched eggs were recovered from nests, formalin-fixed and necropsied. The tissue samples stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE), Grocott, von Kossa, periodic acid-Schiff (PAS), Movat pentachrome stains. Histologically, vacuolar degeneration (100.0%) increased numbers melanomacrophages (18.6%) in liver, edema (14.0%) lungs observed. Twenty-five kidneys (58.1%) showed deposition blue amorphous material HE staining, which also appeared PAS-positive black Kossa allowing a diagnosis calcium oxalate, confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). hepatic lesions may be indicative toxicosis, infection, or defense mechanism. A statistically significant association between nest position renal oxalosis (renal oxalate deposition) was Renal probably due to exceptionally high summer temperatures, higher compared temperatures recorded previous two years.

Cashew nut testa, a by-product of cashew processing, is abundant in phenolic compounds and exhibits strong antioxidant properties, making it potential additive for enhancing the properties biodegradable films used food packaging. This study explores fabrication chitosan/polyvinyl alcohol incorporating varying concentrations testa extract (CNTE; 0, 1, 2 3% v/v) evaluates their physical, structural, mechanical, optical properties. The results demonstrate that increasing concentration generally increased thickness, tensile strength, Young's modulus, thermal stability capacity films, while reducing moisture content, swelling degree, elongation at break, light transmittance. Specifically, film with showed approximately 11% lower content 31% degree compared plain film. It also displayed highest strength modulus 28.63 147.35 MPa, respectively. Microstructural analysis revealed incorporation CNTE resulted smoother slightly denser structure. Antioxidant activity, determined by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging assay, was not detected but concentration. exhibited activity 58.93 µmol Trolox equivalents (TE) g −1 highlights as an effective edible developing ultraviolet barrier improved mechanical water resistance packaging applications.

Microplastics (MPs) are discovered in various places even encroaching on marine protected areas (MPA).The aim of this research is to investigate the occurrences MPs pollutant MPA and non-MPA Karimunjawa National Park (KNP).The results showed that from sea surface water were higher than with range as 47.89-106.20 items/L, dominated by fragment, 1-50 µm size, black color HDPE, LDPE, PP, Nylon, PVC, ABS, PET polymer types. It induced since it supplied surrounding, specifically south MPA, whereas there have been cottage constructions generating many debris. These findings indicate occurrence still dominantly influenced anthropogenic activity. However, hydrodynamic characteristic well play an important role distributions.
