This study aims to investigate the connection between serum lipids, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), age-related macular degeneration (AMD) risk assess whether lipids mediate association PFAS AMD. 1605 participants were enrolled from NHANES 2005-2008. Four levels with high detective rates, including perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA), perfluorooctanoic (PFOA), perfluorooctane sulfonic (PFOS), perfluorohexane (PFHxS) examined. Restricted cubic spline analysis (RCS) weighted quantile sum (WQS) employed detect nonlinear mixed exposure effects. PFOS level was associated any AMD (OR, 1.54; 95% CI, 1.12 2.11; P = 0.011), early 1.43; 1.06 1.95; 0.024), late 3.35; 1.55 7.23; 0.004) risk. PFHxS 1.72; 1.01 2.93; 0.045) PFOA 2.10; 1.21 3.63; 0.011) The RCS showed a (P 0.006). WQS indicated positive relationship 1.34; 1.03 1.75; 0.030). Serum total cholesterol (TC) high-density lipoprotein (HDL) (ORTC, 1.005; 1.001 1.009; 0.026. ORHDL, 1.028; 1.014 1.042; P<0.001), mediated of risk, mediation proportions 5.73% 0.020) 7.27% 0.032), respectively. connected TC HDL this relationship.
