Although the coking industry is a major polluter, it still an important and irreplaceable in many countries. Wastewater from typically contains large amounts of various hazardous substances, including phenols, cyanides, thiocyanates; we conducted comprehensive study on their ecotoxicity. This included five different toxicity tests with common species trophic levels: bacteria Aliivibrio fischeri Pseudomonas putida, microalgae Chlorella sp., duckweed Lemna minor, onion plant Allium cepa. These have rarely or never been used for these three toxicants. The results show that cyanide generally has highest toxicity, while phenol relatively equal higher than thiocyanate, depending test. Since no data joint toxic action toxicants can be found literature, although occurrence aquatic environment very likely, performed analysis. analysis was binary ternary mixtures using concentration addition model as reference behavior mixtures. obtained showed synergistic deviation combinations combination thiocyanate led to additive behavior.
