Heavy metal pollution is investigated for a mine dump and soils crops located 0.5, 1, 1.5, 3 6 km from Cu mine, analyzing the total, available exchangeable Cu, Zn, Cr, Ni, Cd Pb. The maximum total contents in dumping site reached 10,000, 1500, 1000, 230, 180 0.6 mg kg−1 Pb Cd, respectively. Within agricultural soils, those 1.5 away showed highest concentrations. values were higher compared with while Cr Ni stood out samples away. Regarding crops, concentrations plants situated Considering toxicity limits, presented levels most cases, exceeded limits of soil away, whereas only them dump. indicated growing all showing problems. These results can be considered environmental significance, both Mozambique globally areas affected by heavy caused mining activities.
