In the current study, novel (Y2O3) x (CdO) 1-x mixed oxides nanocomposites (NCs) with different Y2O3 loadings (0.0 ≤ 0.2) have been synthesized via a facile precipitation approach. The structural analysis by x-ray diffraction reveals that both pure CdO nanoparticles (NPs) and NCs possess crystalline cubic-phase purity. crystallite size in mixing nanocomposition ranged from 45 to 52 nm based on concentration of NCs. morphologies NPs were studied using field emission scanning electron microscopy. This confirmed collected had an irregular semi-spherical morphology. It was established, Tauc figure, optical band gap produced lowered 3.35 2.96. Testing conducted Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) increase surface area pore volume following addition is indicative increased porosity. UV-vis spectroscopy's study loading significantly improves photocatalytic activities photodegradation efficiency methylene blue (MB) higher (94.6%) for 0.2 0.8 under solar irradiation compared (45.6%) NPs. photocatalyst stable six cycles MB degradation, according reusability. Optimal system responsible boost activity due system's high BET-surface area, narrow distribution, energy gap.

Highly sensitive detection of formaldehyde (FA) is great importance to protect human health against its adverse effect. Herein, we constructed copper nanoclusters (Cu NCs) with strong luminescence capable rapid, sensitive, and visual FA, which was self-assembled using D-penicillamine (DPA) as the protecting ligand. Common physical measurements were carried out analyze as-fabricated samples (DPA-Cu NCs). Experimental results revealed red fluorescence (FL), large Stokes shift, a long lifetime. Furthermore, DPA-Cu NCs presented aggregation-induced emission (SAIE) property achieved quantum yield (FLQY) high 76.26% in solid state. Notably, FA could quench Cu effectively. The possible quenching mechanism attributed static quenching. Moreover, paper-based sensor built by immobilizing probe on filter paper, can achieve on-site FA.
