The present study reviewed the occurrence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA and evaluation virus infectivity in feces environmental matrices. detection wastewater samples, reported several studies, has generated interest concern regarding possible fecal-oral route transmission. To date, presence viable COVID-19 infected people is not clearly confirmed although its isolation from six different patients. Further, there no documented evidence on wastewater, sludge water viral genome been detected these Decay data revealed that persisted longer than infectious particle all aquatic environment, indicating quantification does imply infective particles. In addition, this review also outlined fate during steps treatment plant focusing elimination along line. Studies showed complete removal tertiary treatment. Moreover, thermophilic treatments high efficiency inactivation. Further studies are required to provide more with respect inactivation behavior matrices examine factors affecting persistence.

The improper management of solid waste, particularly the dumping untreated municipal poses a growing global challenge in both developed and developing nations. generation leachate is one significant issues that arise from this practice, it can have harmful impacts on environment public health. This paper presents an overview primary waste types generate landfill their characteristics. includes examining distribution landfills globally how they changed over time, which provide valuable insights into potential pollutants given area trends. With lack specific regulations concerns regarding environmental health impacts, also focuses emerging contaminants. Furthermore, ecological leachate, along with associated risks, are analyzed. applications suggested interventions future directions discussed manuscript. Finally, work addresses research studies, attention, for first time to potentialities artificial intelligence offer management, applications.

Effective and affordable disinfection technology is one key to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6. In this work, we develop a process by integrating Far-UVC irradiation at 222 nm with free chlorine (UV222/chlorine) for rapid inactivation of the chlorine-resistant opportunistic Aspergillus niger spores in drinking water. The UV222/chlorine achieves 5.0-log A. dosage 3.0 mg L-1 UV fluence 30 mJ cm-2 deionized water, tap surface rate constant 0.55 min-1, which 4.6-fold, 5.5-fold, 1.8-fold, respectively, higher than those UV222 alone, chlorination conventional UV254/chlorine under comparable conditions. more efficient mainly attributed enhanced generation reactive species (e.g., 6.7 × 10-15 M Cl•) instead hydroxyl radicals from photolysis chlorine, verified through both experiments kinetic model. We further demonstrate that damages membrane integrity benefits penetration into cells inactivation. merits over also include effective inhibition photoreactivation after lower formation chlorinated byproducts toxicity.
