Historical gold mining has resulted in heavy metal enrichment soils, which become a major concern for environmental management and public health. Given its great significance, this study presented combined use of three-dimensional (3D) models soil pollution plumes ecological hazards statistical analysis to enhance the current knowledge contamination status an abandoned area. The results showed that mean concentrations Cd, Pb, Zn, As Hg significantly exceeded their corresponding background values. principal component Pearson correlation revealed were dominant from diverse anthropogenic sources with complex background, while Cr, Cu Ni mainly natural origins. order both within outside area, varied showing highest volume, followed by Ni, Cu, Cr former case, As, latter case. hazard model suggested displayed high risk area was also identified as contributor. above indicated main pollutant caused hazards. multisource information obtained present helpful local authorities develop effective remediation strategies sites contaminated activities.
