Biogas production, a low-carbon energy source, has led to heightened focus on sustainable management of its by-product, anaerobic digestate. The unprocessed digestate poses environmental and safety risks, including greenhouse gas emissions potential soil contamination. Thus, the development comprehensive, globally applicable guidelines for is crucial. unique aspect this review lies in proposed guidelines, addressing micropollutant presence, prioritizing nutrient conservation, aligning with carbon neutrality Sustainable Development Goals. methodology involves an exhaustive study existing literature innovative valorization methods digestate, biological, chemical, thermal, mechanical processes. emphasizes importance enhancing quality before application, thus reducing contamination improving fertilization properties. This notably contributes understanding context process circularity, offering valuable insights future research practical applications.

Forests have the most biodiversity and provide vital ecosystem services. They offer numerous forest-related services, some of which can be commercialized. This improves social, cultural, health, scientific life. Nonmarketable intangible services are discounted because people think they're endless free. Humans changed natural social worlds through using resources improving well-being. Public private decision-makers often compete over capital. The loss biodiversity, climate change, global warming interconnected with development ensuring an acceptable level well-being for majority humanity, making it difficult a single, individual approach to estimating value these goods generate support decisions policies in complex areas. complexity products requires integrated assessment cutting-edge technologies approaches pluralist framework heterogeneous values. evaluation should encompass costs benefits several commodity service applications. These usage' effects on economic, cultural advancement also crucial. extensive thorough enthronization ecosystems affect amount quality services; thus, is quantify complicated inverse effect from civilization nature. Studies show that incorporating sustainability sciences into integrative may environmental policy future.

In recent years, biofuel production has attracted considerable attention, especially given the increasing worldwide demand for energy and emissions of greenhouse gases that threaten this planet. case, one possible solution is to convert biomass into green sustainable biofuel, which can enhance bioeconomy contribute economic development goals. Due being in large quantities containing high organic content, various sources such as food waste, textile microalgal agricultural waste sewage sludge have gained significant attention production. Also, technologies, including thermochemical processing, anaerobic digestion, fermentation bioelectrochemical systems, been extensively reported, achieve valorization through producing biofuels re-utilizing wastes. Nevertheless, commercial feasibility still determined, it unclear whether compete equally with other existing fuels market. The concept a circular economy promote environmentally friendly waste. This review comprehensively discusses state-of-the-art from perspectives associated it. Biofuel evaluated within framework bioeconomy. Further on integration approaches maximizing utilization are discussed, what could mean economy. More research related pretreatment machine learning should be conducted optimize process, increase yield make prices competitive.

Currently, one of the main goals is to make municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) energy-neutral. However, advanced treatments and sewage sludge processing are still classified as highly energy-intensive. In this study, energy self-sufficiency potential assessment WWTP located in Krosno (Poland) was evaluated. Moreover, possible paths for improving balance analyzed facility presented paper. The performed evaluation indicated that 2016–2019, consumption at varied from 0.25 0.71 kWh/m3 (average 0.51 kWh/m3), highest utilization values each year were recorded around summer season. An analysis data showed pollutant load flowing into increased, its decreased. Such results indicate cost per cubic meter decreases increases due capital being same. estimated years 50.5%. average recovery 1 m3 0.27 kWh/m3, biogas 1.54 kWh/m3. Since plant, determined primarily by continuously increasing purchases, has be improved, two courses action identified will allow self-sufficiency. co-digestion strategy easiest solution implement, given on-going anaerobic stabilization WWTP. co-substrates can obtained local suppliers indicated. second course action, which requires a thorough economic analysis, pre-treatment, might improve properties, resulting more favorable yield.
