In modern times, wastewater treatment is vital due to increased water contamination arising from pollutants such as nutrients, pathogens, heavy metals, and pharmaceutical residues. Polysaccharides (PSAs) are natural, renewable, non-toxic biopolymers used in the field of gas separation, liquid filtration, adsorption processes, pervaporation, proton exchange membranes. Since addition nanoparticles PSAs improves their sustainability strength, nanocomposite has gained significant attention for past decade. This review presents a comprehensive analysis PSA-based nanocomposites efficient treatment, focusing on adsorption, photocatalysis, membrane-based methods. It also discusses potential future applications, challenges, opportunities photocatalysis. Recently, have shown promise adsorbents biological-based systems, effectively removing metals that could hinder microbial activity. Cellulose-mediated successfully removed various wastewater, including dyes, oil, organic solvents, pesticides, Thus, PSA would support biological processes plants. A major concern discharge antibiotic wastes industries, posing environmental health risks. PSA-mediated bio-adsorbents, like clay polymeric hydrogel beads, efficiently remove antibiotics ensuring quality ecosystem balance. The successful use bio-adsorbents depends ongoing research optimize application evaluate impacts. Implementing these eco-friendly large scale holds great significantly reducing pollution, safeguarding ecosystems, protecting human health.

The κ-carrageenan-grafted-poly(acrylamide)/Fe3O4-GO (κ-car-g-PAAm@Fe3O4-GO) adsorbent was attained in three stages, utilizing grafted poly(acrylamide) (PAAm) onto κ-carrageenan (κ-car) Fe3O4 and graphene oxide (GO) presence. Various characteristic analyses were carried out to peruse the chemical properties, morphological features, thermal stability, magnetic behavior, porosity of prepared nanoadsorbent. According results obtained from analyses, nanoadsorbent showed superparamagnetic behavior. It rendered a semicrystalline structure by presence amorphous matrix κ-car-g-PAAm. SEM images exhibit well dispersion nanoparticles (MNPs) lamellar GO sheets throughout hydrogel context. Besides, along with incorporation into structure, BET surface area (2.361 m2/g), pore volume (0.008 cm3/g), size (137.49 nm) κ-car-g-PAAm@Fe3O4-GO higher than κ-car-g-PAAm@Fe3O4. maximum adsorption capacity (Qmax) at an ambient temperature for CPFX 1146.467 mg/g. These experiments' data described Freundlich isotherm, pseudo-second-order explains kinetics well. retrievability studied indicated that it could be isolated effectively reused consecutive cycles without remarkable efficiency loss.

The Santa Barbara Amorphous-15-guar gum-grafted-poly (acrylic acid)/cobalt ferrite (SBA-15-GG-g-PAA/CoFe2O4) mesoporous adsorbent was prepared by graft copolymerization of acrylic acid (AA) onto guar gum (GG) in the Amorphous-15 (SBA-15) substrate presence, followed incorporating CoFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). Diverse analyses were conducted to identify adsorbent's chemical and morphological properties, thermal resistance, characteristics, surface area, porosity. Based on hysteresis loops, rendered ferromagnetic behavior. According TGA, it has char yields 72 wt% at 800 °C superparamagnetic behavior (Ms 3.22 emu.g−1). crystalline structure cubic phases MNPs GG-g-PAA amorphous matrix demonstrated XRD. MNP formation with partial aggregations smooth, nonporous, regular surfaces GG depicted FESEM images. Also, precisely-arranged hexagonal cylindrical pores SBA-15 authenticated Additionally, increased BET area 40.55 m2/g, which is higher than composite without silica. Several experimental setups used evaluate effectiveness adsorption, including pH medium (4–9), Adsorbent dosage (0.003–0.02 g), Interaction time (1–25 min), Initial pollutant concentration (50–400 mg/L). Using 0.003 g 25 °C, chlorpyrifos (CPF) malachite green (MG) had maximum adsorption capacities (Qmax) 909.1 mg/g 1000.0 mg/g, respectively. In this study, Langmuir isotherm model fitted data perfectly withRMG2 = 0.9987 andRCPF2 0.9994, pseudo-second-order explained kinetics RMG2 0.9644 RCPF2 0.9923.
