Synthetic organic dyes, which are resistant to biodegradation, pose a notable health risk, potentially leading cancer and respiratory infections. Researchers have addressed this concern by exploring physicochemical methods remove dyes from wastewater. A particularly promising solution involves modified biochar adsorbents, demonstrate high efficiency in dye removal. Biochar, charcoal-like material derived biomass pyrolysis, offers advantages such as low cost, eco-friendliness, reusability. Beyond its role sustainable soil remediation, proves effective removing wastewater after undergoing physical or chemical modification. Acid–base activation metal–heteroatom impregnation enhances biochar's adsorption capacity. This comprehensive review examines the attributes of biochar, common for production modification, impacts raw materials, pyrolysis temperature, heating rate residence time. It further elucidates mechanism removal assessing factors influencing efficiency, including feedstock, pH, particle size, initial concentration, dosage reaction explores challenges, opportunities, reusability regeneration treating also discusses recent advances using adsorption-based biochar. The ultimately advocates enhancing performance through post-modification.

One of the major obstacles to realization a sustainable planet is handling liquid waste, which where Chitosan production waste (CPW) have been becoming significant environmental issue. derived CaO catalyst (CPW-CaO) was synthesized through self-termination precipitation acidic (de-mineralization step) with alkali (de-proteination/de-acetylation) then calcination and utilized as an eco-friendly cost-effective generate biodiesel from Soybean deodorizer distillate oil (SDDO). XRD, EDS, FTIR, SEM, BET were used characterize CPW-CaO. The demonstrated exceptional catalytic performance in conversion SDDO matched EN fuel specifications at 8% dosage, 12:1 ration methanol SDDO, 2 h, 65 °C reaction temperature optimum conditions that yielding 97.1% conversion. For first four cycles, CPW-CaO able produce comparatively high biodiesel, according reusability study. regeneration can be recycled for more than cycles yield. results this study provide ecologically friendly method producing biodiesel.

Conventional methods of house dust mite control often involve chemical pesticides, raising concerns about their potential hazards. Mint essential oil presents a natural and eco-friendly alternative for managing infestations. In this study, ten varieties mint plants were cultivated, oils extracted through steam distillation. The toxicity these main compounds on adult mites was assessed using contact+fumigant mortality bioassays vapour-phase bioassays. A repellent bioassay also conducted to evaluate the effects compound mites. varied among different varieties, with some demonstrating higher potency in eradicating showed both acaricidal action mites, certain exhibiting stronger efficacy. Linalool as active identified key contributors properties oil. oil, particularly rich compounds, shows promise effective agent controlling Its dual functionality killing repelling along its environmentally friendly nature, make it viable pesticides management. Further research specific mechanisms long-term effectiveness is warranted explore full sustainable pest management solution.

The increased prominence in the use of nanoparticles has made it important to employ synergy between while harnessing individual metallic and biological properties improve modify surface, versatility, efficiency nanoparticle hybrid. This study aims conduct a bio-assessment assay hybrid systems within an in-vitro set-up surface modifications these systems. surfaces are characterized using scanning electron microscope, dynamic light scattering (DLS), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). FTIR reveals presence functional groups like phenols, carboxylic acids, esters. XRD confirms hexagonal crystalline phase Fe-NZnO, cubic lattice Fe-NCaO, rutile TiO2. hydrodynamic diameter Fe-NZnO-NCaO, Fe-NTiO2-NCaO, Fe-NTiO2-NZnO shown be 163.2, 164.6, 219.4 nm, respectively, DLS analysis. Turbidity indicates that Fe-NZnO-NCaO is least aggregated particle following 14-day observation period, meaning most stable over period. Anti-hemolytic erythrocyte demonstrates relative biocompatibility ability hybrids enhance cell protein protection. Fe-NTiO2-NCaO exhibit higher post-treatment cytotoxicity across concentrations than Fe-NTiO2-NZnO.
