Aquaculture, a rapidly expanding food production system, holds promise for improving global security and resilience. However, imbalanced growth has led to highly uneven distribution of aquaculture among countries, concern that not been comprehensively examined. This paper fills this knowledge gap by developing an innovative indicator system assess issue based on development in ~ 200 countries over five decades. The utilizes the "effective number countries" (ENC) as basic measure extends it into two novel indicators, popularity parity, gauge inclusiveness balance. assessment from 1970 2020 reveals become enterprise, operating nearly 90% countries. Nevertheless, there is still substantial potential across most 43 species groups examined here. Regarding concerns persistently growth, our parity increased during 1970-2020 majority 85 country here, including 18 27 regions subregions. Emerging micropollutants (EMPs)—which include endocrine disruptors, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, pesticides, and industrial chemicals—have recently received global attention due to their detection in the environment at trace levels being labeled as a first-priority environmental public health concern. EMPs are often identified by nature of toxicity, bioaccumulation potential, persistence, despite low concentrations. Their prevalence aquatic is closely linked difficulty removed using conventional water wastewater treatment techniques. Constructed wetlands (CWs) have drawn more interest this field recent years, largely because affordability, ease use upkeep, friendliness. However, only small number researchers examined compiled body knowledge regarding CWs remove disrupting chemicals (EDCs) other from various sources. Previously reviewed articles were not focused on comparative performance types hybrid systems EDCs wastewaters. Therefore, applications suitability different integrated for removing wide range emerging contaminated environments (water wastewater) reviewed. The findings review confirmed that integrating with novel technologies, such membrane bioreactors (MBR), electrochemical oxidation, microbial fuel cells (MFCs), can maximize specific advantages constructed wetland terms micropollutant removal.
