The removal of boron from wastewater is essential for protecting environmental health and supporting sustainable urbanization by preventing toxic accumulation in ecosystems. Existing adsorption technologies face challenges such as limited capacity, slow kinetics, high regeneration costs, reduced efficiency due to adsorbent saturation. This study develops an eco-friendly (CGCNF beads) modifying chitosan nanofibers with d-(+)-glucono-1,5-lactone (GL) enhance removal. adsorbents were characterized 1H NMR, Cosy SEM, BET, TGA, FTIR, colloidal titration. Notably, the hydroxyl functional groups grafted onto (49.5%) found be three times higher than those on flakes (16.4%). CGCNF beads followed Langmuir model pseudo-second-order a maximum capacity 6.05 mg g-1, surpassing commercial Amberlite IRA-743 resin (5.73 g-1). process was much faster, reaching equilibrium 120 minutes, compared 720 minutes adsorbent-based flakes. significantly enhanced either elevating pH levels or introducing salts NaCl, KCl, CaCl2, MgCl2. showed robust regeneration, maintaining 65.1% their after 20 cycles. developed also demonstrate simultaneous high-efficiency B(iii) As(iii) ions local wet flue gas desulfurization (FGD) at rates 94.5% 100%, respectively, providing solution contamination.
