Cities around the world are increasingly expanding their sustainability agendas and adopting urban green blue infrastructure planning as a strategy to become more resilient, healthy sustainable. However, development of greening governance often lacks holistic vision that considers social inequities within planning, implementation management spaces. Further, gender have been specific dimension particularly overlooked in despite concerns gaining increasing political relevance recent years. In this research, we assessed extento which equity being considered plans projects at local level. We chose Barcelona (Spain) main case study due its pioneering role implementing crosscutting policies municipal Building on document analysis semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders, examined how justice understood operationalized practice, from design phase maintenance projects. Our findings suggest shift evolved an ornamental multifunctional is recently incorporating inclusivity concerns. identified three action areas inclusive, gender-sensitive practices: first, incorporation care guiding visible values recognize multiple needs city residents; second, for different uses perceptions greenspaces, relation accessibility autonomy; third, awareness expertise staff vis-à-vis consideration participatory approaches. Finally, provide practical examples strategies City each area discuss some challenges limitations, including what identify ad hoc intersectional greening.

Abstract The co‐occurrence of more frequent, intense and prolonged heat drought events can lead to severe socio‐economic impacts. integration different types urban green infrastructures (GIs; e.g., parks building greens), design measures (DMs; a network cool spaces passive cooling), at various scales, help reduce outdoor air temperature, energy use stress. Numerous accessible or emerging GI DM solutions exist, highlighting the need for guidelines that evaluate their suitability in enhancing resilience extreme heat. Those should consider broader aspects such as geographical conditions, morphology development, social‐economic background, governance sustainability, well specific considerations like maintenance, adaptability soil water resources. To facilitate decision‐making, this study proposes based on narrative literature review, discussing potential impact GIs DMs role city's climate resilience.

Urban plans can promote the implementation and scaling up of nature-based solutions (NbS) through adoption specific policy instruments. These be applied to different typologies NbS interventions, depending on transformations allowed by plan property regime areas. Through a review real-world applications, we provide an overview instruments that used in urban plans. We identify eighteen types divided into five main categories linked them eight overall interventions which they applied. The matrix linking includes fifty-nine matches corresponding documented real-life applications. Regulations especially integrate early new development areas, while incentive-based are suitable retrofitting renovating built environment. Notably, more than one instrument each typology. discuss differences among how combined achieve desired goals. Moreover, illustrate expand range options planning context, supporting wider planning.
