Abstract This study explores a novel photoelectrode made from combination of copper oxide (CuO), polyaniline (PANI), and gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) for efficient hydrogen production in photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting. The Au/PANI/CuO is fabricated using cost-effective methods, ensuring practical applications. research evaluates the photoelectrode's morphology, structure, efficiency, stability to optimize its performance PEC reactions. Integrating Au, PANI, CuO nanomaterials improves charge transfer, reduces resistivity, minimizes recombination, resulting significantly enhanced efficiency. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) reveals that film has rough texture with non-uniform particles, while PANI/CuO exhibits agglomerates interconnected PANI nanofibers. Au NPs are evenly distributed across film, diameters ranging 5 60 nm. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis approves presence each element desired proportions, validating successful fabrication photoelectrode. light absorption properties due surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect interaction between CuO. demonstrates remarkable 300-fold increase photocurrent density (Jph) compared pure CuO, achieving maximum 15 mA/cm² at -0.39 V vs. RHE. Additionally, maintains constant 0.5 hours, showing superior which experiences rapid decay. It also achieves high IPCE value 45% nearly 500 nm, indicating utilization. Overall, this presents promising approach designing stable photoelectrodes splitting generation
