Abstract A novel solar collector consisting of a delta–nabla configuration flow channels is investigated in the present study. In proposed design, triangular connected series act as an absorber having more exposed area to sunlight with ability store 21 L water inside it that serves sensible energy storage mitigate intermittency issues. At stage proof concept, effectiveness design not known. Moreover, its performance comparison existing thermal configurations yet be explored. Hence, there need develop comprehensive numerical model can used template predict range climatic conditions. Therefore, study attempt investigate thermal-hydraulic collector, and transient simulations are conducted. For accurate prediction, effects flowrate, inlet temperature, irradiative flux on outlet temperature analyzed through parametric using real-time data ambient flux. The results calculate derived parameters such Nusselt number, heat losses, efficiency by varying flowrate. shows transfer characteristics increase flowrate operate up overall efficiencies between 29% 62% at flowrates ranging from 0.1 0.8 L/min winter. has predicted improved when compared conventional design.
