Facing the peak regulation for electrical network in new power systems, addition of energy storage system can improve operational flexibility coal-fired plants (CFPPs). This paper proposes CFPP coupled with a liquid carbon dioxide (LCES) system, and assesses four different coupling schemes. The performance optimal is evaluated by energy, conventional exergy advanced analyses. By comparing integrated under integration methods, it found that best facilitated using steam turbine fifth-stage extraction as source LCES system. analysis shows round-trip efficiency subsystem 65.16%, which 6.99% improvement over single cold tank are two components largest destruction, accounting 21.90% 20.37%, respectively. total endogenous avoidable destruction account 96.18% 55.04%, suggests mainly from themselves modifications to help performance. Besides, sensitivity reveals increasing compressors turbines an effective way performance, however, compression ratio either compressor or will result lower may provide ideas CFPPs.
