Abstract Converting biomass waste into value‐added products is desirable and a major goal for the circular economy. Herein, agricultural sweet potato extraction residues (SPR) were converted hierarchially porous carbons (HPCs) by facile method using KOH as activation agent. The as‐obtained SPR‐HPCs exhibited well developed pore structure very high specific surface area (SSA). By controlling fabrication conditions including dosage of temperature, optimized SPR‐HPC‐3.5–800 had an ultrahigh SSA 3206 m 2 g −1 with volume 2.132 cm 3 . When used electrode materials, electrochemical studies demonstrated that based achieved capacitance 320 F at current density 0.5 A symmetrical supercapacitor in 6 M energy 6.8 Wh kg 249 W Furthermore, stability was SPR‐HPCs. This study provides good example production from biowastes.
