The intermittency of renewable energy sources (RESs) leads to the incorporation storage systems into microgrids (MGs). In this article, a novel strategy based on model predictive control is proposed for management wind–solar MG composed RESs and hydrogen system. system involved in daily regulation service markets, characterized by different timescales. long-term operations related market are managed high-layer control, which schedules production consumption meet load demand, maximizes revenue participating electricity market, minimizes operational costs. short-term real-time low-layer (LLC), corrects deviations between actual forecasted conditions, optimizing power according participation dynamics constraints equipment. addition, LLC charge smoothing provided grid. Numerical simulations demonstrate that effectively operates satisfying demands while minimizing device Moreover, when compared other strategies, controller yields fewer state switches devices, thus extending their lifespan. efficacy further validated through lab-scale setup.
