The growth of the global population, coupled with higher levels social and economic development has spurred technological advancement industrialization. Consequently, there's a rising energy demand, necessitating pursuit alternative sources for affordable implementation. In last decade, extensive efforts focused on reducing fossil fuel use exploring cost-effective, abundant, eco-friendly renewable such as wind, solar, tidal energy. These are subject to daily seasonal fluctuations. Thus, modular electrochemical capacitors (ECs) address their intermittency. utilization porous carbons in EC application garnered significant attention due unique properties, low environmental impact, ease fabrication. Porous carbon materials possess large surface area conductive reactions, enhancing charge storage capabilities ECs. Their structure enables rapid ion diffusion, which is crucial charge/discharge cycles achieving high power density. ongoing developments aim optimize cost properties through various enhancements. Biomass-derived (BDPC) attracted intense because its cost-effectiveness, sustainability, adjustable dimension, superior electrical conductivity, making it promising candidate Furthermore, utilizing biogenic helps sequester CO2, contributing integration emissions from conversion. This work reviews synthesis approaches applications BDPC Investigating related physicochemical material, modification nano-structural parameters, developing appropriate strategies enhance functionality vital. study also demonstrates that performance intricately influenced by range factors, including pore structure, specific area, degree graphitization, heteroatom doping, presence defect, overall morphologies.
