Using the first-principles molecular dynamics simulations and CI-NEB calculations, we performed a systematic comprehensive investigation on chemical compatibility of various solvents (carbonate esters, aromatic solvents, ethers, carboxylic water, DMSO ionic liquids) electrolytes (DMC-Al(OTF)3, DME-Al(OTF)3, GBL-Al(OTF)3, H2O-Al2(SO4)3, DMSO-Al(OTF)3, [EMIm]+Cl--[AlCl3] urea-AlCl3) with Mo2TiC2-based MXenes, evaluating their possible use as additives in aluminum-ion batteries (AIBs). Among investigated carbonate ester (DMC), chain ether (DME), hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene), (GBL), DMSO, liquids ([EMIm]+Cl-, [DMPI]+Cl- [BMP]+Cl-) urea showed very low reactivity towards both bare Mo2TiC2 Al-terminated structures (Mo2TiC2Al2 Mo2TiC2Al6 monolayers), indicating excellent between these MXene cathode. Besides monolayer, relatively was predicted for MXenes after contact almost all considered this work, even more reactive esters (PC EC) ethers (G2 THF). The DMC-Al(OTF)3 liquid ([EMIm]+Cl--AlCl3) exhibited high promising electrochemical at interface electrolyte electrode. Alternatively, either decomposition components or Al3+ observed other systems (DME-Al(OTF)3, DMSO-Al(OTF)3 urea-AlCl3), poor reversibility cyclic performance AIBs.
