Abstract Polypyrrole (PPy) has been the subject of extensive research recently as a supercapacitive material due to its high theoretical capacitance, low cost, facile synthesis, and abundance in nature. However, cyclic stability PPy alone an electrode is drawback for energy storage application. For supercapacitors (SCs), composite materials based on have developed improve their electrochemical performance. This review summarizes some recent developments field hybrid SCs. Additionally, certain recommendations are made about advancement large‒scale synthesis techniques further enhancing PPy‒based practical utility devices.
