ABSTRACT Cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) are commonly found in the environment due to human activities like industrialization development. These metals toxic often contaminate water, food, edible plants, leading exposure. This study investigates Cd Pb levels 68 date samples from supermarkets across various regions of Sindh, Pakistan, including 30 provided by companies that export palm fruits globally. Electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) with conventional wet acid digestion (CAD) was used for metal determination. Optimization carried out Plackett–Burman design (PBD), central composite (CCD), response surface methodology (RSM). Results indicated ranged 0.012 ± 0.001 0.061 0.004, an average value 0.031 0.002 mg/kg. Lead these varied 0.028 0.079 0.03, averaging 0.055 0.004 were within safety limits. Municipal solid waste management in developing countries faces limitations, especially concerning technologies for treatment and disposal, which is crucial achieving environmental economic sustainability goals. This paper investigates municipal Laos, compared with the ASEAN-Japan regions, focusing on background information, characteristics, impact, resource utilization. The findings indicate a continuous rise generation particularly capital Vientiane, from 0.21 million tons 2012 to 0.37 2021. Treatment methods include unsanitary landfilling, basic recycling, open dumping, as well burning or discharge into rivers, posing potential risks environment human health. Japan Singapore have shown decreasing trends, reducing 45.23 40.95 2021 7.27 6.94 Laos encounters challenges managing waste, recovery waste-to-energy practices, elements of integrated aimed at promoting sustainability. Enhancing involves act segregation, extended producer responsibility policies. Implementing mechanical biological facilities, plants, upgraded landfills crucial. Capacity building public awareness campaigns will improve sustainability, reduce impacts, advance sustainable development goals cities communities.

Heavy metal ions impair human health and irreversibly damage the ecosystem. As a result, it is critical to create an efficient approach for identifying heavy ions. The electrochemical sensor method type of detection that highly sensitive, low in cost, allows real-time monitoring. In this study, solid carbon spheres were made using resorcinol formaldehyde as raw materials, followed by formation PEDOT/carbon sphere composites via situ oxidative polymerization, Pb2+ was detected utilizing them electrode modification materials. structure spherical analyzed scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). To investigate properties these composites, impedance (EIS), cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse (DPV) employed. addition, mechanism material Pb2⁺ studied CV. showcased extensive linear range 7.5 × 10-2 1.0 μM ions, achieving limit (LOD) 3.5 nM displaying exceptional selectivity. These results can be attributed its large surface area, superior electrical conductivity, outstanding transport properties. This study offers effective detecting concentrations Pb2+, with potential applications future detection.

Abstract Fish intake may constitute a significant route by which humans are exposed to metals, especially people who depend on fish as source of protein Alexandrians. Therefore, this study aimed investigate the metal contents in muscles eight commonly consumed freshwater (Tilapia, Catfish, and Common Carp) marine species (Emperors, Groupers, Mackerels, Silver Pomfret, Roving Groupers) collected from local markets located Alexandria City for 1-year calendar year, 2022. Seasonal variations levels tested metals species, with differences between were recorded. Also, Cu, Zn, Fe, Co, Cd all during experiment did not exceed guideline limits, while Ni, Cr, Pb October–May, June–September, February–May 2022, respectively, exceeded permissible limits settled FAO WHO. Additionally, Mackerels Groupers had high-level Mn that European Commission. The accumulation these different relative variation accumulation, Cu was most predominant element Tilapia, Zn Fe Carp, Emperors, Co Tilapia. Consumption high Metal Pollution Index (MPI) value pose potential public health risk. On meantime, calculated values estimated daily intakes (EDI), hazard index (HI), target quotient (THQ) indicated no risk Alexandrians via consumption because they World Health Organization’s acceptable intake.
