Exploring low-cost and high-performance phosphorus (P) adsorbents is key to controlling P contamination in water. This study evaluated the adsorption performance of three types cement: Ordinary Portland cement (OPC), slag (PSC), pozzolana (PPC). Furthermore, SEM-EDS, XRD, XPS, FTIR were employed reveal mechanism. The results showed that pseudo-second-order model exhibited higher regression coefficients than pseudo-first-order model, indicating chemisorption dominated process. Langmuir equation fitted data well, with maximum capacities 245.8, 226.1, 210.0 mg g-1 for OPC, PSC, PPC at 25 °C, respectively. decreased gradually increasing initial pH reached their values 3. anions F-, CO32-, SO42- negatively affected due competitive Ca2+. confirmed Ca-P precipitates (i.e., hydroxyapatite) main removal A real domestic sewage experiment 0.6 g L-1 OPC effectively reduced concentration from 2.4 below 0.2 L-1, a dosage cost 0.034 $ per ton. indicated cement, as efficient adsorbent, has great potential application removing acidic neutral wastewater.
