The search for fossil fuels substitutes has led to the increased use of carbon-free fuels. These include ammonia and hydrogen. However, independent combustion these is quite troublesome due their physicochemical properties or requiring significant changes in design engine used heavy-duty vehicles. Such designs are rail vehicles other means heavy transport. usually compression-ignition engines with appropriate modifications. Therefore, article presents solutions co-combustion hydrogen along typical diesel fuel. Solutions enabling bring various benefits, but also present some limitations. For this reason, that show potential benefits fuel have been discussed presented.
