Dyes based on quinoline and quinoxaline skeletons were designed for application as visible light photoinitiators. The obtained compounds absorb electromagnetic radiation the border between ultraviolet light, which allows use of dental lamps sources during initiation photopolymerization reaction. Their another desirable feature is ability to create a long-lived excited state, enables chain reaction proceed through mechanism intermolecular electron transfer. In two-component photoinitiating systems, in presence an donor or hydrogen atom donor, synthesized show excellent abilities photoinitiate polymerization acrylates. control tests, efficiency using modified derivatives comparable that typical, commercial photoinitiator dentistry, camphorquinone. Moreover, tested requires small amount (only 0.04% by weight) initiate research also showed significant acceleration process shortening time. practice, this means new initiating systems can be used much lower concentrations without slowing down speed obtaining polymer materials. It worth emphasizing these two features system allow cost reduction reducing financial outlays both materials (photoinitiators) electricity.

Abstract In this study, we investigate the effect of terminal benzene derivatives in triphenylamine‐based oxime esters on their photoreactivity. Five novel ( Miko series) that containing different as groups, were synthesized. The electronic properties substituents ring range from electron‐donating to electron‐withdrawing. Specifically, a methoxy for Miko‐MOB , tert ‐butyl benezene Miko‐ t ‐Bu chloro Miko‐CB trifluoromethyl Miko‐TFM and nitro Miko‐NB . Additionally, compound with only substituent TP‐1 ) was selected comparision. All new compounds exhibited higher molar extinction coefficients than steady‐state photolysis electron spin resonance (ESR) would decrease substitutes electron‐withdrawing substitutes. Finally, these are utilized Type I photoinitiating systems free radical polymerization trimethylolpropane triacrylate (TMPTA) under UV or LED@405 nm light irradiation conditions. Among all formulations, demonstrated highest double bond conversion efficiency both irradiation. Thus, play an important role tuning optical photochemical reaction performance, offering significant value design strategy such photoinitiators.

In this work, photoinitiation systems based on dibenzo[a,c]phenazine sensitivity to visible light were designed for their potential application in dentistry. Modification of the structure consisted introducing electron-donating and electron-withdrawing substituents heavy atoms into position 11. The synthesized compounds are able absorb radiation emitted by dental lamps during polymerization process. presence acrylates, dibenzo[a,c]phenazines show excellent photoinitiating abilities containing an electron donor or a hydrogen-atom as second component. developed initiate process comparable commercial photoinitiator, i.e., camphorquinone. Moreover, performed studies showed significant shortening time reduction amount absorber. This indicates that polymeric materials obtained at similar rate despite concentration newly two-component systems.
