Abstract Concerns about the effect on environment and non-renewable nature of plastics have sparked a substantial field study towards creation recyclable polymers. Vitrimers are potential class reusable polymers that recently attracted lot interest. Like conventional thermosets in strength, durability, chemical resistance, these materials offer added benefit being at end their useful life. Their structure, which includes dynamic covalent crosslinks to provide stability while enabling reprocessing, is credited with this special characteristic. We lay out an overview recent developments applications epoxy based vitrimeric by using different types adaptable networks (CANs) – single, dual triple paper attention design tactics make it easier create circular future. Covalent Adaptable Networks (CAN), novel polymer family can bridge gap between thermoplastics, emerged years uses chemistry crosslinked networks. The was enhanced 2011 Leibler colleagues when they introduced notion vitrimers, retain integrity network even after heating allow connections be reallocated within them associative exchange reactions. This review also demonstrates how vitrimer community paying need for sustainable material development demonstrating use biobased building blocks synthesis high-performing vitrimers. Having outlined primary characteristics commercialization vitrimers emphasized portray benefits self-healing, malleability, orthogonal processability, various shape memories along solutions synthetic materials.

ABSTRACT Microcapsule‐based self‐healing systems, capable of remediating epoxy resin fatigue microcracks, present promising prospects for prolonging their service life. However, there is a pressing need to improve the mechanical properties, especially toughness, composite resin. Herein, dual‐compartment microcapsule was proposed ingeniously integrate into matrix, which could endow composites with improved toughness and remarkable capability self‐repair against intrinsic injuries. Preparation methods included soap‐free emulsion polymerization PSA nanoparticles loaded healing agent, alongside development PDA encapsulating catalyst through Pickering polymerization. Subsequently, assembled via coupling reaction between nanoparticles. Self‐healing performance indicated that incorporation 2 wt% microcapsules significantly restore tensile strength 68.37%. Remarkably, long‐term anti‐corrosion coating typically using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements. The low‐frequency logarithm value remained stable at approximately 7.1, whereas pure has dropped 4.8. Furthermore, epoxy/microcapsule exhibited UV aging resistance commendable storage stability ambient conditions. This strategy provides corrosion resistance, anti‐UV irradiation, performance.

Abstract A series of nonionic surfactants, polyoxyethylene(n) monodehydroabietates (PEGylated DHAAs), were synthesized by an addition polymerization reaction between dehydroabietic acid (DHAA) and ethylene oxide (EO). The structures PEGylated DHAAs characterized FTIR, UV–vis 1 H NMR, their hydrophilic-lipophilic character surface activities evaluated water titration tension measurement, respectively. Meanwhile, the degree PEG chain in structure was determined according to results NMR analysis, its influence on performance surfactant aqueous solution systematically investigated. experimental showed that has a significant character, critical micelle concentrations (CMCs) tensions at CMC ( γ ), while it had little effect minimum min ).

Abstract Anti‐fouling coatings are an effeective strategy for combating biofouling in the marine industry. However, traditional anti‐fouling have disadvantages of high toxicity and unstable polymer degradation rates, which impact on environment economy. Herein, a self‐polishing, coating without heavy‐metal biocides with dual mechanisms is prepared. By grafting N‐(4‐hydroxy‐3‐methoxybenzyl), repellent effect fouling organisms, onto acrylic resin introducing polydimethylsiloxane chains to reduce surface energy, adhesion Staphylococcus aureus , Vibrio alginolyticus Nitzschia sp . reduced by ≈90.2%, >99.9% ≈89.8%, respectively. To ensure that can form self‐renewing under seawater scouring, degradable polycaprolactone chain used bridge resin; thus, mechanical properties improved. This study provides solution problem industry, biomedicine, other fields.
