An effective and accurate strategy for tailoring the dynamic properties of covalent adaptable networks (CANs), which relies on capability to trigger bond rearrangements within polymer network, involves precise control material's microstructure through molecular-scale structural design. Herein, we propose a novel approach modulate dynamics vinylogous bonds by changing adjacent chemical moieties functional monomers, thereby enabling reversible exchange reactions with alcoholic hydroxyl groups. Vinylogous bonds-modified carbonyl group (vinylogous ester bond) revealed behavior at lower temperature than attaching motif carbonate bond). It was attributed extended conjugated region in moieties. Meanwhile, exhibited dissociative mechanism, an association mechanism offered motifs. Additionally, CANs composed (BPAP–OH) displayed rapid feature activated energy, compared that consisting Similarly, shape fixation ratio also indicates comparable properties. is noteworthy BPAP–OH enables degradation DMSO recyclability hot press. This offers versatile tool tuning characteristics exploring their potential various applications.
