Abstract As global warming intensifies and energy resources deplete, carbon capture sustainable conversion technologies gain increasing importance. Among these, calcium looping (CaL) technology has demonstrated promising cost‐effectiveness ease of integration with other systems. However, severe sintering CaO‐based sorbents occurs during cyclic carbonation calcination, resulting in a significant decrease CO 2 capacity stability. This paper reviews enhancement strategies aggregate for synthetic over the past 10 years, compiling tabular dataset 1042 reported materials, to compare effects synthesis methods operation conditions on decay rate capacity. Sol‐gel, combustion, template are recommended producing high porosity sorbents.
