More than 58 million metric tonnes of oranges were produced in 2021, and the peels, which account for around one-fifth fruit weight, are often discarded as waste orange juice industry. Orange pomace peels wastes used a sustainable raw material to make valuable products nutraceuticals. The contain pectin, phenolics, limonene, have been linked various health benefits. Various green extraction methods, including supercritical carbon dioxide (ScCO2) extraction, subcritical water (SWE), ultrasound-assisted (UAE), microwave-assisted (MAE), applied valorize pomace. Therefore, this short review will give insight into valorization peels/pomace using different methods wellness. This extracts information from articles written English published 2004 2022. also discusses production, bioactive compounds peels/pomaces, extractions, potential uses food Based on review, pomaces can be carried out with high quantities qualities extracts. extract wellness products.

Edible oils play a vital role in human nutrition, serving as crucial source of energy, essential fatty acids, and vitamins necessary for bodily functions. However, during handling, cooking, storage these are susceptible to oxidation, resulting the loss nutritional value, development undesirable flavors, production harmful compounds, reduction shelf life. To counteract oxidation enhance oil stability, synthetic antioxidants have traditionally been employed. recent times, consumer awareness has led an increased preference natural because effects on health. This review provides comprehensive overview research focused oxidative stability various edible vegetable through incorporation derived from fruits waste. These obtained waste diverse techniques blended with different form free extracts, encapsulated nano-encapsulated nano-emulsion extracts assess their antioxidant efficacy. antioxidant-rich efficiently prevented by scavenging radicals, chelating metal ions, delaying formation peroxides, offering safer more effective alternative counterparts. Beyond antioxidative properties, contribute enhancement oils, functioning nutraceuticals. approach not only offers means protect but also facilitates efficient valorization, mitigating potential environmental impacts making it sustainable eco-friendly strategy.

In this study, the extraction and nanoencapsulation of mango peel extract (MPE) were investigated to enhance its stability preserve antioxidant properties. Initially, using central composite design (CCD)-response surface methodology (RSM), optimal conditions for MPE via an ultrasonic system determined be a temperature 10.53 °C, time 34.35 min, ethanol concentration 26.62 %. Subsequently, extracted was spray-dried nanoencapsulated three types coatings: maltodextrin, whey protein isolate (WPI), their combination. The results showed that led significant improvement in phenolic compounds during storage compared free extract. Furthermore, capsules prepared with combined coating exhibited highest levels activity. Therefore, it can concluded serve as effective method preserving bioactive properties MPE.

Orange peels, generally considered as waste, were treated with subcritical water (SWE)—a green technology and environmentally friendly extraction process—at different temperatures (120–200 °C) times (5–60 min). The extracts which obtained chemically biologically characterised to evaluate this potential source of bioactive compounds. total phenolics content (TPC) flavonoids contents (TFC), well antioxidant capacity (TAC), DPPH radical scavenging activity, carbohydrate content, determined by UV spectrophotometry. pectin was quantified a gravimetric method. dietary fibre investigated, phytochemical screening assay performed. extract at 120 °C for 5 min displayed the highest TPC (45.45 mg GAE/g DW), TFC (9.29 RE/g TAC (130.47 AAE/g indicating that relatively low extremely short can be used in SWE obtain orange peel are rich results study demonstrate exceptional SWE. Ascorbic acid (AA), or vitamin C, is one of the most important vitamins consumed through diet due to its critical role in many biological processes. Although human body cannot synthesize it, AA essential maintaining healthy bodily structure, acting as a cofactor enzymes involved collagen synthesis and an efficient immune system. At same time, used cosmetic field for antioxidant antipigmentary properties, food industry additive, chemical reducing agent. can be chemically synthesized, produced by oxidative fermentation bacteria, extracted from natural sources. This review addresses recent developments manufacture, including techniques extracting C plants, fruits, vegetables, algae, leaves, focusing on commonly green methods, i.e., ultrasound-assisted extraction, microwave-assisted pressurized liquid supercritical fluid extraction. These methods are based mild extraction conditions, environmentally friendly solvents, low cost, energy consumption. In contrast, their yields comparable even higher than those conventional methods.
