ABSTRACT Sliced bamboo veneer used as a high-end decoration material is highly innovative for the deep processing of bamboo. However, rich in starch and small molecular soluble sugars, making it susceptible to mildew infection limiting wide application sliced plybamboo. Spice essential oils are considered green safe antimildew agents, which cheap accessible. The natural phenolic substances plant oil have good inhibitory effect on mildew. In this study, three types spice (clove oil, oregano fennel oil) were employed, their antifungal activity against mildews was assessed using Oxford cup method, scanning electron microscopy, transmission micro pH meter. results demonstrated that diameters Inhibition Zone four common (AN , Aspergillus niger; TV Trichoderma viride; PC, Penicillium citrinum ; MM, Mixed Mildews) caused by clove 25.68 mm, 23.22 30.68 25.43 respectively. As an explanation, can inhibit or eliminate damaging disrupting cell membrane mildew, leading significant shrinkage, distortion, surface roughness, formation holes, partial structural cracks mildew’s mycelium. Additionally, may interfere with disrupt balance intracellular extracellular fluids within cell. Furthermore, we also report plybamboo impregnated each layer showed fine inhibition rates 50%, 75%, 100%, 25% AN, TV, This research underscores sustainable approach prevention, crucial advancing bamboo’s utilization high-value furniture decor applications. IMPORTANCE Mildew growth poses challenge, particularly its use decor. Traditionally, chemical treatments been primary solution though they often raise environmental concerns. Essential oils, well-documented antimicrobial properties, emerged important eco-friendly alternative preventing These effectively while offering sustainable, non-toxic reduces harm both environment human health. By leveraging becomes possible extend lifespan products, them more durable suitable broader applications decor, all addressing ecological limitations conventional prevention methods.
