Abstract
In
this
study,
polymorphism
in
behaviour,
morphology,
and
stable
isotope
signatures
of
burbot
from
Lake
Southern
Konnevesi,
Finland,
Europe,
was
examined.
First,
local
knowledge
collected
on
exceptional
the
spawning
behaviour
morphology
burbot.
These
phenomena
were
then
studied
based
catch
samples.
Interviews
sample
analyses
suggested
two
morphs
burbot:
one
morph
late
February
littoral
zone
other
March,
deep
profundal,
depths
about
30
m.
Fish
caught
profundal
had
higher
average
proportional
somatic
body
weights
wider
heads
than
those
sites
February.
The
length-at-age
individuals

that
catch.
Stable
analysis

Overexploitation
of
fisheries
is
recognized
as
a
major
environmental
and
socioeconomic
problem
that
threats
biodiversity
ecosystem
functioning.
Inappropriate
management
policies

stocks

applied

in

this
study,
we
aim
to
assess
the
extent
differentiation
vendace
(
Coregonus
albula
)
collected
from
eight
locations
Bothnian
Bay,
northernmost
part
Baltic
Sea.
Specifically,

if
species
forms
single
panmictic
population
or
divided
into
several
genetically
distinct
units.
We
used
restriction
site-associated
DNA
sequencing
(RAD-seq)
identify
21,792
SNPs
based
on
266
individuals.
identified
clear
pattern
between
River
Kalix
other
sampling
locations,
weak
structuring
samples
Swedish
Finnish
coast.
Outlier
analysis
detected
41
putatively
under
divergent
selection,
mainly
reflecting
divergence
samples.
The
outlier
were
located
within
near
25
genes,
including
voltage-dependent
calcium
channel
subunit
alpha-2
(CACNA2D2),
cadherin
26
(CDH26)
carbonic
anhydrase
4-like
(CA4)
earlier
associated
with
salt-tolerance
salinity
stress.
Our
study
provides
first
genome-wide
perspective
Sea
rejects
hypothesis
panmixia
Bay.
As
such,
our
work
demonstrates
power
RAD-sequencing
detect
low
but
significant
relevant
for
management.
