Many aromatic herbs are conventionally used for flavoring various foods, but receive wide attention because of the variety health-related properties. The can be either fresh or as dried powders and in form extracts, essential oils, purified metabolites. In this review, main functional properties, terms antioxidant antimicrobial applications some commonly from Lamiaceae family, discussed. Herbs like oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme, summer savory, marjoram, basil possess high levels bioactive phytochemicals. They particularly rich phenolic acids, flavones, diterpenes, flavanones, with beneficial effects. phytochemical profile plants is highly influenced by genetic factors, environmental conditions, their interaction. cases extracts extraction method has a strong effect on final composition herb products. Most these related to antioxidant, antimicrobial, particular, oils have multiple fields food, feed, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, biopesticides, textile industries.

Background: Neuropathic pain can be triggered by chemotherapy drugs such as paclitaxel (PTX). Management of is limited drugs' ineffectiveness and adverse effects. Isopulegol (ISO) a monoterpene present in the essential oils several aromatic plants has promising pharmacological activities. Objectives: to evaluate antinociceptive activity ISO PTX-induced neuropathic model. Methods: toxicity was evaluated healthy cancerous cells. Behavioral assessments were performed using von Frey acetone tests. We investigated involvement GABAergic pathway, NMDA, TNF-α, release GABA glutamate presence ISO. Results: showed little or no cytotoxicity U87 MDA-MB-231 In both acute subacute treatment, at doses 25, 50, 100 mg/kg (* p < 0.05) increased mechanical nociceptive threshold animals compared control group reduced thermal sensitivity. Its action reversed pre-treatment with flumazenil potentiated NMDA antagonist, MK-801. TNF-α levels tests carried out. Conclusions: shows low neuronal cells its association PTX generated synergism cytotoxic action. The effect due activation antagonism receptors involves stabilization plasma membranes leading an imbalance neurotransmitters, favoring GABA-mediated inhibition over glutamatergic excitation.

Zingiber Mill. is the second-largest genus of Zingiberaceae family. The members this are known for their diverse applications in food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare fields due to richness bioactive components found essential oils (EOs). This study aims provide information about EOs’ chemical composition biological activities from 23 species. A literature survey was performed via scientific databases, including PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, Google Scholar, ethnobotanical textbooks. Clustering analysis conducted using Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA) construct phylogenetic trees. Various studies have revealed that β -pinene, α -caryophyllene, -elemene, bicyclogermacrene, sabinene, camphene, linalool, ( E )-nerolidol, terpinen-4-ol, 1,8-cineole, humulane-1,6-dien-3-ol, -phellandrene, zerumbone representative ingredients EOs. The traditional nutritional use of sea fennel (Crithmum maritimum L.) has been rediscovered and reestablished, making this halophyte plant a prominent ingredient in coastal cuisine subject interest various scientific disciplines, including pharmacy medicine. first objective study was to identify the volatile profiles essential oils (EOs) hydrolates derived from leaves, flowers, fruits using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. A total 25 different volatiles were identified EOs 63 hydrolates. Limonene most abundant component (74.85%, 74.30%, 67.41%, respectively), while hydrolates, it terpinen-4-ol leaves (27.8%) flowers (36.7%) (Z)-carveol (11.4%). second investigate biological activities samples. antioxidant choline inhibitory generally low, with flower hydrolate providing inhibition both enzymes leaf highest antiradical activity. cytotoxic also investigated. human breast adenocarcinoma cell line MDA-MB-23 sensitive against fruits, reaching IC50 after 48 72 h, respectively. exhibited activity effective h. MCF-7 fruit EOs, reached at all tested periods. Overall, results highlight as rich source bioactive compounds that have significant potential for greater utilization nutraceutical pharmaceutical industries.

This study investigated the antistress effects of yuzu synthetic fragrances by employing three experiments on humans and mice using two five single compounds. We prepared based component analysis natural essential oils extracted cold-pressed steam-distilled extraction methods. Chromogranin A (CgA) heart rate (HR) were used as stress indices in human experiments. Immobility time during forced swim test was a index analyzed brain mechanisms measuring expression neurotrophic factors, brain-derived factor (BDNF), nerve growth (NGF), neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) Synthetic fragrance mimicked oil (SD) significantly reduced participants’ experiment 1. In conducted 2, SD immobility time, increased factors BDNF, NGF, NT-3 hippocampus mice. 3, focusing compounds, terpinen-4-ol test. These findings indicate that inhalation has effects. Terpinen-4-ol is strong candidate for further investigation potential stress-reducing agent.
