Constructing heterointerfaces with space charge areas can effectively drive carrier transport. Semiconductor photocatalysts have been widely used to remove pollutants from industrial wastewater. Organic and heavy metal ions often coexist in polluted environments. However, the studies on water pollution only focused treatment of single organic or ions. Herein, a ZnO/CdS composite is synthesized using simple hydrothermal method. The hybrid shows excellent photocatalytic performance for simultaneous removal rhodamine B (RhB) dye hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) complex contaminants under visible‐light irradiation. Photocatalytic efficiencies 98.93% RhB degradation 94.59% Cr(VI) reduction are achieved after 120 min exhibits superior activity compared with pristine ZnO CdS. Z‐scheme heterojunction formed between CdS promotes separation transfer photogenerated carriers, thus enhancing composite.
